Masterclasses and workshops at The Studio in 2024
All day workshops in a gorgeous, light-filled garden studio with small class sizes with individual tuition by studio owner Cathy Brett or professional guest artist. Learn new skills, build on previous expertise or just come for the relaxing creative atmosphere. All classes include expert tuition, all materials and tools, plus a buffet lunch, tea, coffee and cake! Take home whatever you create, and a feeling of achievement and wellbeing.
SPRING 2024 :
2nd March or 13th April
HARD COVER SKETCHBOOK
Make your own hard cover concertina sketchbook. Design your own cover. Fold quality drawing paper to make a zig-zag of pages perfect for single sketches or opened out for panorama landscapes.
9th March or 20th April
KITCHEN PRINTMAKER
Have fun making collagraph prints with common kitchen items. Design and etch a collagraph plate from TetraPac cartons. Learn how to ink the plate and prepare paper. Use the studio flatbed press and an adapted pasta maker (!) to print your own limited edition.
16th March or 27th April
CYANOTYPE - BEAUTIFUL BOTANICAL BLUEPRINTS
Discover the fascinating pre-photography reproduction technique - Blueprints. Select and gather botanical specimens ftom the Studio garden and apply them to prepared paper and textiles and fix behind glass. Expose in sunlight to develop the image, then wash away the undeveloped chemicals to reveal gorgeous blue and white botanical prints.
